Gambolò Calcio ( anni 19.. )  

Beppe Pastormerlo (io), quando avevo 14 anni ero alto. Poi sono cresciuto, ma non in altezza. La squadra era di 17-18 anni. Mi presero come portiere. Ero tanto giovane, ero forse bravo?  La squadra vinceva tanto tra le squadre locali, ma nelle finali più avanti ci massacravano di gol. Bene, l'importante era partecipare,  dicevano.

Beppe Pastormerlo (me), when I was 14 I was tall. Then I grew up, but not in height. The team was 17-18 years old. They took me as their goalkeeper. I was so young, was I maybe good? The team won a lot among the local teams, but in the finals they massacred us with goals. Well, the important thing was to participate, they told 

in piedi: Beppe(io), Maestrone A., Fantato, Maestrone G., ?, Casinghino,

Gabba A., Sedino, Magenta. Capuzzo, Gabba G., ?, dirigente.

Vigevano sport.

La città di Vigevano, che è stata abbastanza conosciuta nel mondo come produttrice di scarpe, non è mai stata invece foriera di grandi glorie tra coloro che le scarpe calzavano, tranne qualche eccezione nella pallacanestro (alcuni anni di serie A e serie B - atleti come Albanese, Solman, Thomas, Boni ). Il calcio ha avuto gli anni migliori attorno al 1940, di cui ricordiamo  Pierinin Colli ( Inter, Lucchese, Bari Vigevano ) e Pietro Buscaglia ( Vigevano, Lazio, Torino, Nazionale A e infine ancora Vigevano ) e Bobo Gori, ex Juventus, Inter..Vigevano alla fine della carriera.

I tempi moderni hanno invece visto Vigevano arrancare sia nel calcio che nella pallacanestro nelle serie minori. Alcuni tra gli elementi di spicco ( si fa per dire ) sono stati premiati come " sportivo dell'anno " ( vedi foto- Beppe è il secondo da destra ).

The city of Vigevano, which was quite popular in the world as a manufacturer of shoes, it's never been rather a harbinger of great glories of those who wore the shoes, except for some glory in basketball (several years of series A and series B - athletes as Albanese, Solman, Thomas,  Boni). Football got the best years around 1940's, of which we remember Pierinin Colli (Inter, Lucchese, Bari Vigevano) and Pietro Buscaglia (Vigevano, Lazio, Torino, National A team and, finally, again Vigevano) and Bobo Gori, ex soccer player of Juventus, Inter ... Vigevano at the end of his career. The modern times have instead seen Vigevano trudging in both football and basketball in the lower divisions. Some of the prominent elements  were honored as "Sportsman of the Year" ( see picture - Beppe is the second from the right side ).

Pallacanestro Vigevano

Nasce nel 1955 come "Pallacanestro Vigevano" e ottiene, nel mese di ottobre dello stesso anno, l'affiliazione alla FIP. Nel corso della sua storia il club ha disputato due campionati della massima serie nazionale, rispettivamente nel 1961-62 e nel 1978-79.

Beppe ( il secondo da sinistra in piedi ) ne diventa proprietario e presidente nel 1984 e partecipa alle vicissitudine della squadra, con promozioni e retrocessioni fino agli anni '90 quando decide di cedere il tutto ad altri. Degno di rilievo il fatto che nella Pallacanestro Vigevano abbia giocato uno dei giocatori più famosi della storia della pallacanestro italiana, la guardia ala Mario Boni. È uno dei pochi giocatori ad aver superato quota 10.000 punti nei campionati professionistici e il terzo nella storia del nostro basket ad andare oltre quota 11.000. 

It was founded in 1955 as a "Basketball Vigevano" and get in the month of October of the same year, the membership of the FIP. During its history the club has played two seasons of the highest national series, respectively, in 1961-62 and in 1978-79.

Beppe ( the second person from the left, standing ) became the owner and president in 1984 and participates in the vicissitudes of the team, with promotion and relegation until the '90s when he decided to give everything to others.  Noteworthy that in the Basketball Vigevano has played one of the most famous players in the history of Italian basketball, the guard-forward  Mario Boni ( the fourth standing at left side ) He is one of the few players to have exceeded 10,000 points in the professional league and the third in the history of basketball to go beyond 11,000 points.

Partecipa con le sue società a numerosi campionati con poco onore e molti oneri. Ha soddisfazioni morali, quali una vittoria in un quadrangolare internazionale di calcio con Vigevano, Gambolò, Vevey e Montreux. Sfiora per due volte la promozione in Serie C di calcio , mentre retrocede in serie C con la pallacanestro. Dopo i fasti della serie A, conosce l'onta della C, ma non si arrende. Continua imperterrito nelle sue attività extra lavorative ( di queste parleremo dopo ) 

His teams partecipated to championships with little honor and many burdens. Beppe had moral satisfaction, including a victory in an international football quadrangular with Vigevano, Gambolò, Vevey and Montreux. Tap twice for promotion to Serie C of football, while relegated to Serie C with basketball. After the glories of the A serie, knows the shame of C, but did not give up. Continues undaunted in his activities outside of work (we'll talk about these later).

Ma può Beppe dimenticare i bambini ? Noooo.... Presiede una squadra di basket di piccoli campioni. Questi giocano e vincono, vincono e giocano. Presi dall'entusiasmo vincono campionati locali, finali provinciali, finali regionali, finali...no basta, perdono una finale con i titolatissimi allievi del Billy Milano, la storica Olimpia basket, che schiera futuri campioni quali Pittis e Meneghin ( figlio di Dino )...mentre le ragazzine arrivano alle finali nazionali dove vengono sconfitte dalla squadra campione d'Italia in carica, la Schio Vicenza.... Insomma un bel partecipare.

But can Beppe forget the kids? Noooo .... presides over a basketball team of small champions. They play and win, win and play. Catched by enthusiasm won local championships, provincial finals, regional finals, finals ... not, enough,  just lose a final against the famous babies of Billy Milan, the historical Olimpia Milano, which ranks athletes in pectore as Pittis and Meneghin ( son of the master Dino Meneghin )... while the girls arrive at the national final where they are defeated by the Italian champions in charge, Schio Vicenza .... In short, a nice staying
